Updates
The NASA Microarray Workshop 2007 is pleased to welcome Dr. Johnathan Kiel from the Air Force Research LaboratoryDr. Stephen Johnston from the Center for Innovations in Medicine
and Dr. James Landers from the University of Virginia
as Invited Speakers for the second session. Their research on quantum dot aptamers, protein arrays for medical diagnostics, and microfluidic electrophoresis and PCR, respectively, will contribute much to the discussion of technologies for space applications.
Invitation
You are cordially invited to attend the NASA Microarray Workshop 2007: Advancing Microarray Technology for Space Applications, which will be held at the Jacobs Conference Center in Huntsville, AL on September 27 and 28.
Sponsored by the Lab-on-a-Chip Application Development (LOCAD) team, the NASA Microarray Workshop 2007 seeks to bring together many outstanding scientists from government, private sector, and academic institutions to discuss applications of microarray technologies in solar system exploration. Building on this and other recent technological advances, the NASA Microarray Workshop 2007 intends to offer informative presentations by leaders of various microscale technology fields and discussion forums on the use of microarrays and other molecular techniques in space applications. The primary objective of the workshop is to provide a scientific and technical forum for advancing microarray and other lab-on-a-chip technologies for space and terrestrial applications.
If you would like additional information or have any questions regarding the workshop, please do not hesitate to contact me either by email at heather.c.morris@nasa.gov or by phone at 256.544.7562. Additionally, more information regarding the LOCAD program and the workshop, including hotels, other speakers, and the schedule, may be accessed via the workshop webpage, http://locad.nasa.gov/conference.
